In 2019, he was appointed as a Regent’s Professor of the University System of Georgia. This is the highest academic honor in the University System of Georgia. The article noted that “on average, the stocks of publicly traded companies decline 1.75% as negative news emerges” involving an IT failure. This “decline translated into the disappearance, on average, of $650 million in stock-market value over a two-day period.”
