Jim Keays is a Scottish-born singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known as the lead singer of the Australian rock band The Masters Apprentices. He has also released several solo albums and acted in several films and television shows. Keays was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and moved to Australia with his family in 1957. He began his music career in the early 1960s, playing in various bands in Adelaide. In 1965, he formed The Masters Apprentices, which became one of the most successful bands in Australia during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band released several albums and had several hit singles, including "Living in a Child's Dream" and "Turn Up Your Radio". In the late 1970s, Keays began a solo career, releasing several albums and singles. He also acted in several films and television shows, including the Australian soap opera Prisoner. Keays continues to perform and record music, and is a popular live performer in Australia. He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1998.
