Doe Avedon was an American actress and model who was active in the 1950s and 1960s. She was born Dorcas Marie Nowell on April 7, 1925 in Old Westbury, New York. She began her career as a model in the 1940s, and was soon signed to the Ford Modeling Agency. She appeared in numerous print ads and television commercials, and was featured in the first issue of Vogue magazine in 1946. In the 1950s, Avedon began appearing in films, including The Big Knife (1955), The Man with the Golden Arm (1955), and The Brothers Rico (1957). She also appeared in several television series, including The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and The Outer Limits. Avedon was married to actor and director Richard Avedon from 1951 until his death in 2004. She died on April 28, 2020 at the age of 95. At the time of her death, Avedon had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
