Danny Glover is an American actor, film director, and political activist. He is best known for his roles in the Lethal Weapon film series, The Color Purple, and Angels in the Outfield. He has also appeared in numerous other films, television series, and stage productions. Glover was born on July 22, 1946, in San Francisco, California. He attended San Francisco State University, where he earned a degree in economics. After college, he worked as a community organizer in San Francisco's Fillmore District. Glover began his acting career in the late 1970s, appearing in small roles in films such as Escape from Alcatraz and The Color Purple. He gained wider recognition for his role as Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon film series. He has since appeared in numerous other films, including Predator 2, Switchback, and Dreamgirls. Glover has also appeared in numerous television series, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, ER, and Law & Order. He has also starred in several stage productions, including The Gospel at Colonus and The Lady from Dubuque. Glover is also an active political activist.
