Carlo Di Palma was an Italian cinematographer and director. He was born in Rome, Italy, on April 17, 1925. He began his career as a camera assistant in the 1950s, and soon became a cinematographer for some of the most acclaimed Italian directors of the time, including Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini, and Ettore Scola. He was known for his use of natural light and his ability to capture the beauty of the Italian landscape. Di Palma was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography for his work on Antonioni's Red Desert in 1964. He also won the Silver Ribbon for Best Cinematography for his work on Scola's We All Loved Each Other So Much in 1975. Di Palma directed two films, The Story of Piera (1983) and The Gold Rimmed Glasses (1987). He also wrote the screenplay for the latter. Di Palma died in Rome on June 8, 2004, at the age of 79. He was survived by his wife, actress Lina Sastri, and their two children. Carlo Di Palma's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
