Bob Bogle is best known as the co-founder of the surf rock band The Ventures. He was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma, and began playing guitar at the age of 15. He formed The Ventures with Don Wilson in 1958, and the band went on to become one of the most successful instrumental rock bands of all time. Bogle was the lead guitarist of the band, and wrote or co-wrote many of their hits, including "Walk Don't Run", "Perfidia", and "Hawaii Five-O". He also wrote the theme song for the television show "Gilligan's Island". Bogle retired from The Ventures in 1968, but continued to perform with them occasionally until his death in 2009. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008. At the time of his death, Bob Bogle had an estimated net worth of $10 million. He earned his wealth through his career as a musician and songwriter.
