Zachary Levi is an American actor and singer. He is best known for his roles as Chuck Bartowski in the television series Chuck, and as the title character in the superhero film Shazam!. He has also appeared in films such as Tangled, Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok. Levi was born on September 29, 1980 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is the son of Susan and Darrell Levi. He has two siblings, an older brother named Joshua and a younger sister named Sarah. Levi attended Buena High School in Ventura, California, and graduated in 1998. He then attended the University of San Diego, where he studied theater. Levi began his acting career in 2001, appearing in the television series Less Than Perfect. He then went on to appear in a number of television shows and films, including Chuck, Tangled, Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok. Levi has also appeared on Broadway, starring in the musical First Date in 2013. Levi is also a singer, having released his debut album, The Zachary Levi EP, in 2011. In 2018, Levi appeared as Dr. Benjamin Ettenberg, a love interest for the main character, Miriam 'Midge' Maisel, in the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In 2017, Levi reprised his role as Flynn Rider in a Disney Channel Original Movie titled Tangled: Before Ever After. Levi joined the cast of the Broadway revival of She Loves Me in the lead role of Georg, alongside Laura Benanti as Amalia. It opened at Studio 54 on March 17, 2016 after previews on February 19, 2016 for a limited engagement through June 12. The run was later extended through July 10, when it closed. The production received high critical praise, receiving 5 Stars from The Guardian and was selected as a Critics' Pick for The New York Times. Levi was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his performance.
