Yury Skuratov is a Russian lawyer and politician who served as the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation from 1995 to 1999. He is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Moscow State Law Academy. Skuratov was appointed Prosecutor General in 1995 by President Boris Yeltsin. He was known for his anti-corruption investigations, including the investigation of the so-called "Oligarchs" who had become wealthy during the privatization of state assets in the 1990s. He was removed from office in 1999 by Yeltsin, who accused him of corruption. Skuratov has since become a vocal critic of the Russian government and has been involved in several opposition political movements. He is currently a member of the Coordinating Council of the Russian Opposition. Skuratov is 68 years old and has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
