Jhony returned to the city of Sobral in December 2009, in 1-year deal. The team finished as the losing side of "opening" stage and "closing" stage. The team also finished as the runner-up in Taça Padre Cícero, to Horizonte, featuring the best two teams of the league outside state capital Fortaleza (including minor club Ferroviário). Despite the team won nothing, the team qualified to 2010 Brazilian fourth division. He scored 4 goals in 9 appearances. That season Guarany was the champion.
