Wade Skolney is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). He was born on June 24, 1981 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. Skolney began his junior hockey career with the Humboldt Broncos in 1998. He played four seasons with the Broncos, helping them to a league championship in 2000. He then moved on to the Western Hockey League (WHL), playing for the Saskatoon Blades and the Prince Albert Raiders. In 2004, he was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round of the NHL Entry Draft. Skolney spent the next four seasons playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). In 2008, he returned to the SJHL, signing with the Humboldt Broncos. He has since become one of the most decorated players in the league, winning the SJHL MVP award in 2009 and the SJHL Player of the Year award in 2010. Skolney is currently in his twelfth season with the Humboldt Broncos. He has appeared in over 500 games with the team, scoring over 200 goals and 500 points.
