Victoria Georgescu is a Romanian volleyball player who was born on 2 July, 1956 in Bucharest, Romania. She is best known for her achievements in the sport, having won the gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. She also won the silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Georgescu began her career in the sport at the age of 16, when she joined the Dinamo Bucharest club. She went on to become one of the most successful players in the history of Romanian volleyball, winning numerous national and international titles. In addition to her Olympic medals, Georgescu has won the European Championship in 1981, the World Cup in 1982, and the World Championship in 1982. She was also named the Best Player of the World Cup in 1982. Georgescu retired from the sport in 1988 and has since been inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.
