Vicky Binns is an English actress best known for her roles as Molly Dobbs in Coronation Street and as Jo Lipsett in the BBC medical drama series Casualty. She has also appeared in the films The Descent and The Descent Part 2. Binns was born in Greater Manchester, England, on 27 August 1982. She attended the Oldham Theatre Workshop and trained at the Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre. Binns made her television debut in 2002 in the BBC drama series Clocking Off. She then went on to appear in the ITV drama series Where the Heart Is and the BBC medical drama series Casualty. In 2006, she joined the cast of the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street, playing the role of Molly Dobbs. She left the show in 2010. In 2005, Binns appeared in the horror film The Descent, and its sequel The Descent Part 2 in 2009. She has also appeared in the television films The Street and The Mark of Cain. Binns's first major TV role was in Nature Boy, alongside Lee Ingleby and Mark Benton, she then went on to join the ITV soap Emmerdale playing the part of Ollie Reynolds for four years from 1999 to 2003. In 2004 she played alongside Caroline Quentine in Comedy Drama Von Trapped after which Binns joined the cast of Coronation Street playing Molly Dobbs. In May 2010 Binns announced that she would be leaving Coronation Street Binns said "'It’s been a joy to be involved in such a fantastic storyline and it is only right that it has the explosive ending viewers are waiting for. I am very excited about playing out the rest of this plot and indeed about what the future holds. I've had an amazing time in the show and feel it's right to leave on such a high."
