Vic Mizzy was an American composer and arranger best known for his work in television and film. He is best remembered for composing the theme songs for the television series The Addams Family and Green Acres. He also composed the scores for films such as Don't Make Waves, The Night Walker, and The Karate Killers. Mizzy was born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 9, 1916. He began his career as a jazz pianist and arranger, working with such artists as Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Artie Shaw. He later moved into composing for television and film, and his work earned him two Emmy Award nominations. Mizzy died on October 17, 2009, at the age of 93. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two grandchildren.
