Tony Reed is an American musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Steamroller. He was born on March 30, 1955 in San Francisco, California. Reed began his career in the late 1970s, playing in various bands in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1981, he formed Steamroller with bassist/vocalist Mark Andes and drummer/vocalist John Cipollina. The band released two albums, Steamroller (1982) and Steamroller II (1984). Reed has also released several solo albums, including Tony Reed (1985), The Best of Tony Reed (1989), and The Best of Tony Reed, Vol. 2 (1992). He has also produced albums for other artists, including the self-titled debut album by the band The Nuns (1981). Reed is currently living in San Francisco and continues to perform and record music.
