Tony Barber is an English actor and comedian who is best known for his role as the host of the long-running game show, Sale of the Century. He was born on 28 March 1940 in Oldham, Lancashire, England, UK. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and began his career as a stage actor. He made his television debut in 1967 in the BBC series The Wednesday Play. He went on to appear in a number of television shows, including The Goodies, The Two Ronnies, and Doctor Who. In 1971, he became the host of Sale of the Century, a popular game show that ran until 1983. He also hosted the game show 3-2-1 from 1978 to 1988. In addition to his television work, Barber has appeared in a number of films, including The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976), and The Great Muppet Caper (1981).
