Tom LaGarde is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1975 to 1985. He was born on February 10, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a two-time All-American and a member of the 1977 NCAA championship team. LaGarde was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 1975 NBA draft. He played for the Nuggets, the New York Knicks, and the Dallas Mavericks during his 10-year NBA career. He averaged 8.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in his career. LaGarde retired from the NBA in 1985 and returned to Chapel Hill, where he worked as a broadcaster for the Tar Heels' basketball team. He also served as an assistant coach for the team from 1988 to 1990. As of 2021, Tom LaGarde's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
