Tige Andrews was an American actor and writer. He was best known for his role as Captain Adam Greer in the 1960s television series The Mod Squad. He also appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout his career. Andrews was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 19, 1920. He attended the Professional Children's School in New York City and began his acting career in the 1940s. He appeared in several Broadway productions, including the original production of "The Teahouse of the August Moon" in 1953. Andrews made his film debut in the 1956 film The Ten Commandments. He went on to appear in numerous films, including The Manchurian Candidate, The Great Escape, and The Dirty Dozen. He also appeared in several television shows, including The Twilight Zone, The Untouchables, and The Fugitive. In 1968, Andrews was cast as Captain Adam Greer in the television series The Mod Squad. He remained with the show until its cancellation in 1973. After the show ended, he continued to appear in television shows and films, including The Rockford Files, The Streets of San Francisco, and The A-Team. Andrews died on January 27, 2007, at the age of 86. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
