Thomas Van Arsdale was an American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1948 to 1961. He was born in New York City on February 16, 1924. Van Arsdale attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, where he was a three-time All-City selection. He then attended the University of Kentucky, where he was a two-time All-SEC selection and a two-time All-American. Van Arsdale was drafted by the Philadelphia Warriors in the 1948 NBA draft. He played for the Warriors, the New York Knicks, and the Cincinnati Royals during his 13-year NBA career. He was a four-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 1956. Van Arsdale retired from the NBA in 1961 and went on to become a successful businessman. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1978. At the age of 99, Thomas Van Arsdale's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million. He earned most of his wealth from his successful NBA career and his business ventures.
