Ted Danson is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is best known for his role as Sam Malone on the NBC sitcom Cheers, for which he won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. He also starred in the CBS dramas CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Cyber.
Danson began his career in the 1970s, appearing in the television series The New Dick Van Dyke Show and Taxi. He rose to fame in 1982 with his role as Sam Malone on Cheers, which ran for 11 seasons until 1993. During this time, he also starred in the films Three Men and a Baby and Cousins.
In the 2000s, Danson starred in the CBS dramas CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Cyber. He also appeared in the films Saving Private Ryan, Mumford, and The Good Place.
