T. Llew Jones was a Welsh author of children's books, best known for his historical fiction. He was born in Pentre-cwrt, Cardiganshire, Wales, and attended the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. He was a teacher for many years, and wrote his first book, The Dragon of an Ordinary Family, in 1951. He wrote over 50 books, including historical fiction, adventure stories, and fantasy. His books were translated into many languages, and he was awarded the Tir na n-Og Award for his contribution to Welsh literature. He was also awarded the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry in 1975. T. Llew Jones died on 28 April, 2009, at the age of 93. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters. His net worth at the time of his death is unknown.
