Swarnamalya is an Indian dancer, actress, and television host. She is best known for her roles in the Tamil films, such as Thiruda Thiruda, Kadhal Kottai, and Kushi. She has also appeared in several television shows, including Jodi Number One, Super Singer, and Dance India Dance. Swarnamalya was born on 22 April 1981 in Chennai, India. She is the daughter of the renowned Carnatic vocalist, Dr. N. Ramani. She completed her schooling from the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School in Chennai. She then went on to pursue a degree in English Literature from the Stella Maris College in Chennai. Swarnamalya began her career as a dancer and actress in the Tamil film industry. She made her debut in the 1993 film Thiruda Thiruda, which was directed by Mani Ratnam. She then went on to appear in several other Tamil films, such as Kadhal Kottai, Kushi, and Uyirile Kalanthathu. In addition to her film career, Swarnamalya has also appeared in several television shows. She was a judge on the popular dance reality show Jodi Number One, and she has also hosted the singing reality show Super Singer.
