Then followed his success streak with a comical film Gopi Kishan (1994) in which he played a dual role. The movie became a blockbuster hit and Shetty began to surface and went on to deliver blockbuster hits through his stunning performances.

Pahlaj knew Shetty would be good in action films. But after seeing the rushes of the film,Pahlaj was shocked. Deepak Shivdsani casted Sunil Shetty as a musician with no action in the film. Fearing the film would bomb,Pahlaj decided it was best to shelve the film. Pahlaj knew that shelving the film would hurt Sunil Shetty. So he decided to announce 2 more films with Sunil so the industry would not back off and sign Sunil for other films. But then the rumours started that Sunil Shetty was financing his own films and Pahlaj was only a front person .
