Steve Ensminger is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the offensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers football team. He was born on September 15, 1958 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ensminger attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, where he was an all-state quarterback. He then attended Louisiana State University, where he was a four-year letterman and two-year starter at quarterback. He was a member of the 1979 LSU team that won the Southeastern Conference championship. After college, Ensminger was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1981 NFL Draft. He played for the Chiefs for two seasons before being traded to the Houston Oilers in 1983. He played for the Oilers for two seasons before retiring from the NFL in 1985. Ensminger began his coaching career in 1986 as the offensive coordinator at his alma mater, Catholic High School. He then served as the offensive coordinator at McNeese State University from 1988 to 1990. He then served as the offensive coordinator at Texas A&M from 1991 to 1993. In 1994, Ensminger returned to LSU as the offensive coordinator. He held that position until 2016, when he was promoted to interim head coach following the firing of Les Miles. He was then promoted to full-time offensive coordinator in 2017. As of 2021, Steve Ensminger's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
