Steve Dobrogosz is an American composer, arranger, and producer. He is best known for his work with the band Tangerine Dream, and for his collaborations with artists such as Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, and Tori Amos. Dobrogosz was born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, and began playing piano at the age of five. He studied classical music at the University of Michigan, and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. In the 1980s, Dobrogosz worked with Tangerine Dream, arranging and producing their albums. He also worked with Kate Bush, arranging and producing her albums The Dreaming and Hounds of Love. He also worked with Peter Gabriel, arranging and producing his albums So and Us. In the 1990s, Dobrogosz worked with Tori Amos, arranging and producing her albums Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink. He also worked with other artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and Alanis Morissette. Dobrogosz has won several awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist for his work on Tori Amos' "Cornflake Girl". Dobrogosz is the son of Walter Dobrogosz and Donna Bartone and grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Jesse O. Sanderson High School. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and afterwards moved to Stockholm, Sweden in 1978, where he began recording and performing. Dobrogosz continues to reside in Stockholm.
