Søren Hyldgaard

In 2003 he wrote the title song for UK comedian/actor Lee Evans as well as scoring the prestigious film of the legendary tales of Jester Till (2003), "The Jester Till", opening in many countries 2003/4.

Recent credits include music for Nicole Kidman in Dogville Confessions (2003).

In May 2001, he accepted a prestigious artistic acknowledgement award for his achievements in film scoring, presented to him by The San Diego Film Commission in Southern California.

Other film scoring awards include the Danish Film Academy's Robert Award for The One and Only (1999) ["The One and Only"].

Søren Hyldgaard has quickly become one of Europe's sought-after screen composers since his feature film debut with Eye Of The Eagle in 1997.

He started composing the music for "Adam Hart i Sahara" in 1984. It was originally planned as a small symphonic score, but the director did not approve the original piano demonstration and repeatedly rejected every suggestion for the film's main theme, until Hyldgaard got fed up. The director was convinced that Hyldgaard would be able to deliver what he wanted and do a better job than any other Danish composer, and waited for him to resume the work. The music was finally completed in 1990, by which time Hyldgaard was able to record his entire score electronically, including the theme he and the director had finally agreed on. It was worth the wait. When the film was released, several reviewers commented favorably on the score's main theme, a bouncy, joyful melody associated with the film's title character, Adam Hart. He later incorporated this melody in his classical composition "Fantasia for Tuba and Piano", which has been performed in concert halls worldwide. "Adam Hart i Sahara" was his first film score.
