Sergey Klimov is a Russian entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder and CEO of the venture capital firm, Klimov Ventures. He is also the founder of the online marketplace, KupiVIP.ru. Klimov was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on July 7, 1980. He graduated from the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance in 2003 with a degree in finance and banking. Klimov began his career as an investment banker at the Russian investment bank, Troika Dialog. He then moved to the United States and worked at the investment bank, Goldman Sachs. In 2006, he returned to Russia and founded KupiVIP.ru, an online marketplace for luxury goods. The company was later sold to the Russian internet company, Mail.ru Group. In 2011, Klimov founded Klimov Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage technology companies. He has invested in a number of companies, including the online travel agency, Ostrovok.ru, and the online payment service, Yandex.Money. Klimov is also a board member of the Russian Venture Company, a government-backed venture capital fund. As of 2021, Sergey Klimov's net worth is estimated to be $1.2 billion.
