Sammy Harkham is an American cartoonist, editor, and publisher. He is best known for his comic book series, Kramers Ergot, which he has been editing since 2002. He is also the founder and editor of the comics anthology, The Ganzfeld. Harkham was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He attended the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied animation. After graduating, he worked as a storyboard artist for television and film. Harkham began his career in comics in the late 1990s, self-publishing his first comic book, Blammo, in 1999. He has since published several other comics, including the critically acclaimed series, Crickets. Harkham is also the founder and editor of the comics anthology, The Ganzfeld, which has been published since 2005. He has also edited several other anthologies, including The Best American Comics and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. Harkham has been nominated for several awards, including the Ignatz Award for Outstanding Anthology or Collection in 2006 and the Eisner Award for Best Anthology in 2007.
