Sam Harris is a New Zealand-born singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his work with the band Goodshirt, which he formed with his brother Gareth and friends Rodney Fisher and Mike Beehre in 1998. Harris has released four solo albums, and has collaborated with a number of other artists, including Flight of the Conchords, The Naked and Famous, and Kimbra. Harris was born on 30 January 1980 in Auckland, New Zealand. He attended Auckland Grammar School, where he met his future bandmates. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and soon began writing his own songs. Harris has released four solo albums: The End of Thinking (2005), I'm Awake It's Morning (2007), Love This Giant (2009), and A Beautiful Lie (2012). He has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Flight of the Conchords, The Naked and Famous, and Kimbra. Harris has won several awards, including the New Zealand Music Award for Best Male Solo Artist in 2005 and 2006, and the APRA Silver Scroll Award in 2006.
