Sam Andrew is an American musician, composer, and actor. He is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company. He has also composed music for films and television shows, and has acted in several films. Andrew was born in Taft, California, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and soon joined a band called The Marbles. He later joined Big Brother and the Holding Company, and was a member of the band from 1966 to 1972. Andrew has composed music for films such as The Big Lebowski, The Doors, and The People vs. Larry Flynt. He has also acted in films such as The Doors, The People vs. Larry Flynt, and The Big Lebowski. Andrew has released several solo albums, including Sam Andrew's Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Sam Andrew's Big Brother and the Holding Company Live. He has also released several albums with other bands, including The Marbles, The Sam Andrew Band, and The Sam Andrew Project. Andrew is currently living in San Francisco, California.
