Russ Farwell is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and executive. He was born on April 20, 1956 in Peace River, Alberta, Canada. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Edmonton Oilers. Farwell was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. He played in the NHL for two seasons, appearing in a total of 33 games. He scored one goal and added four assists for five points. Farwell retired from playing in 1979 and joined the Edmonton Oilers as an assistant coach. He was promoted to head coach in 1982 and held the position until 1985. He then served as the Oilers' general manager from 1989 to 2000. Farwell was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. He currently serves as the general manager of the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League. As of 2021, Russ Farwell's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
