Rosemarie Gabriel is a former East German swimmer who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada. She won a gold medal in the 4x100m medley relay and a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay. Gabriel was born on 27 February 1956 in Schwerin, Germany. She began swimming at the age of seven and was soon competing in national competitions. She was part of the East German team that won the 4x100m medley relay at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. She also won a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay. After retiring from competitive swimming, Gabriel became a swimming coach. She has coached several swimmers to national and international success. Gabriel is married and has two children. She currently lives in Berlin, Germany.
