Rocky Stone is a Canadian writer, producer, and director. He is best known for his work on the television series The L Word, The Killing, and The Magicians. He has also directed episodes of the series The 100, The Flash, and Supergirl.
Stone was born on October 22, 1971 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He attended the University of Toronto, where he studied film and television production.
Stone began his career in the entertainment industry in the late 1990s, working as a production assistant on the television series The X-Files. He then went on to work as a production coordinator on the series The Outer Limits and The Dead Zone.
In 2004, Stone wrote and directed his first feature film, The L Word. The film was a critical and commercial success, and earned him a Directors Guild of Canada Award nomination.
Since then, Stone has written and directed episodes of numerous television series, including The Killing, The Magicians, The 100, The Flash, and Supergirl. He has also written and produced the feature films The Killing Game and The Magicians: The Movie.
Stone is currently working on the upcoming television series The Magicians: The Quest. He is also developing a feature film adaptation of the novel The Magicians.

From 2002 to 2012, he collected a total of 13,409 toys, which were given to less fortunate kids as part of the Toy Mountain Campaign. The Toy Mountain Campaign is hosted each year by CFTR-AM, CFTO-TV and the Salvation Army.
The date was February 4th of 1995, and it was on that day Rocky knew at that moment he had the ability to recognize true talent. Since then, he has interviewed over 15,000 youth (and parents) and has promoted over 2,000 youth to date.
On October 15th of 1994, one week before his 23rd birthday, he became an Independent Talent Agent. After the first few months, he wasn't really sure if this was what he really wanted to do, as he had no previous experience at that point as an Agent. In order to see if he was able to recognize if someone had talent or not, he entered himself into a talent competition in a local Mall. Hundreds of people, of all ages entered and the then 23-year-old Rocky spent a great deal of time watching everyone prepare for this competition from the inside. The talent performed on a small stage in the middle of a very busy mall, with three judges and hundreds of shoppers watching on. It was at that moment he said if he wasn't able to correctly pick the top 3, he would change careers. Well, not only did he correctly pick the top 3, but he was the overall winner of the entire competition. Rocky performed a very touching monologue about "Violence Against Women and Children Must Stop". His performance was so powerful that it seemed like for a brief moment in time that every person in that mall stopped to listen to him. Near the end of this heart touching piece, he walked to the edge of the stage and went down on one knee and had one single tear roll down his face.
