Robert Georg Wiesengrund was a German art director who worked in the film industry from the 1920s to the 1950s. He was born on 21 August 1888 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and worked as a set designer for the theater before entering the film industry. Wiesengrund worked on over 50 films during his career, including the classic German films The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920), Nosferatu (1922), and Metropolis (1927). He was known for his innovative use of light and shadow, and his work was highly influential in the development of German Expressionist cinema. Wiesengrund died in Munich on 15 April 1956. He was 67 years old.
