Robert Chambers is an American sculptor who has been creating art for over 30 years. He is best known for his large-scale public art installations, which often incorporate elements of nature and technology. He has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Chambers was born in Miami, Florida, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Miami in 1981. He then went on to study at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he received his Master of Fine Arts degree in 1985. Chambers has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Sculpture in 1989, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 1991, and a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in 1992. He has also been the recipient of numerous public art commissions, including the Miami International Airport, the Miami Beach Convention Center, and the Miami-Dade County Courthouse. Chambers currently lives and works in Miami, Florida.
