Robert C. Wise is a former American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district from 1975 to 1983. Wise was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on May 21, 1925. He attended the public schools of Williamsport and graduated from Williamsport High School in 1943. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1947. Wise served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. After his discharge, he worked as a salesman for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company from 1947 to 1951. He then worked as a sales representative for the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1951 to 1954. In 1954, Wise was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where he served until 1962. He was then elected to the Pennsylvania Senate, where he served from 1963 to 1974. In 1974, Wise was elected to the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district. He served in the House from 1975 to 1983. After leaving Congress, Wise returned to Williamsport and worked as a consultant. He also served on the board of directors of several companies. Wise is a member of the Democratic Party.
