He began boxing at the age of 12 and had his first professional fight in 1997. He won his first world title in 2004, when he defeated American boxer Nate Campbell to become the WBA super featherweight champion. He successfully defended his title four times before losing it in 2006. In 2008, Reducindo moved up to the lightweight division and won the WBC lightweight title in 2009. He successfully defended his title four times before losing it in 2011. He has since won the WBA interim lightweight title in 2013 and the WBC Silver lightweight title in 2014.
