Pasolini was a controversial figure in his lifetime, and his films were often censored or banned. He was also an outspoken critic of the Italian government and the Catholic Church. He was murdered in 1975, and the case remains unsolved. Pasolini's legacy as a filmmaker and writer continues to be celebrated today. He is widely regarded as one of the most important Italian filmmakers of the 20th century.
