Peter Kavanagh is an Australian film and television director. He is best known for his work on the television series Neighbours, which he directed from 1989 to 1992. He has also directed episodes of Home and Away, All Saints, and McLeod's Daughters. Kavanagh was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He attended the University of Melbourne, where he studied film and television. After graduating, he worked as a production assistant on the television series Prisoner. Kavanagh began his directing career in 1989, when he was hired to direct episodes of the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours. He directed over 200 episodes of the show, and was nominated for a Logie Award for Most Popular Director in 1992. In addition to his work on Neighbours, Kavanagh has directed episodes of Home and Away, All Saints, and McLeod's Daughters. He has also directed several feature films, including The Wog Boy (2000) and The Wannabes (2003). Kavanagh is married to actress and producer Lisa McCune. They have two children.
