Pamela Ballantine is a British television presenter and journalist. She is best known for her work on BBC Northern Ireland, where she has presented the flagship news programme, BBC Newsline, since 1997. She has also presented a number of other programmes, including the current affairs programme, Spotlight, and the consumer affairs programme, The Consumer Show. Ballantine was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and attended Methodist College Belfast. She graduated from the University of Ulster with a degree in English and French. Ballantine began her career in journalism in the early 1980s, working as a reporter for the Belfast Telegraph. She then moved to BBC Northern Ireland, where she worked as a reporter and presenter on a number of programmes, including the current affairs programme, Spotlight. In 1997, Ballantine became the presenter of BBC Newsline, the flagship news programme for BBC Northern Ireland. She has presented the programme ever since, and is one of the most recognisable faces on Northern Irish television. In addition to her work on BBC Newsline, Ballantine has also presented a number of other programmes, including the consumer affairs programme, The Consumer Show, and the current affairs programme, Spotlight. Ballantine is married to fellow journalist, David Blevins. The couple have two children.

Ballantine continues to freelance for the station as a continuity announcer and ambassador, occasionally presenting the weather or newsreading. In 2016, she returned to presenting UTV Life, which airs every Friday evening.

2009

In 2009, Ballantine returned to the UTV continuity department and became a relief weather presenter at the station. This followed press reports claiming UTV management had offered her the option of accepting a different role at the station or taking a redundancy severance package from the company.
