Nick McCormick is a British long-distance runner who was born on 11 September, 1981 in Hexham, United Kingdom. He is a two-time Olympian, having competed in the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics. He is a two-time European Cross Country Championships medallist, having won a bronze medal in 2004 and a silver medal in 2006. He is also a two-time British National Cross Country Champion, having won the title in 2004 and 2006. McCormick began his running career at the age of 15, when he joined the local running club in Hexham. He went on to compete in the English Schools Cross Country Championships, where he finished in the top 10. He then went on to compete in the British Universities Cross Country Championships, where he won the title in 2003. McCormick has represented Great Britain at the European Cross Country Championships, the World Cross Country Championships, and the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. He has also competed in the London Marathon, the Great North Run, and the Great Edinburgh Cross Country. McCormick is currently sponsored by Nike and is a member of the Nike Oregon Project. He is married to fellow British runner, Joanne Pavey, and they have two children.
