She is the daughter-in-law of the late, great magician, Don Alan. Don Alan is affectionately called, "The Father of Close-Up Magic," and was heralded as one of the "100 Most Influential Magicians of the 20th Century." Myra and her husband, Kevin, are the proud guardians of Don's "bag of tricks," including his signature illusions like "The Nut" and "The Chop Cup."

She is the Artistic Director of The Theatrical Fantastical Troupe in San Diego. In partnership with the Actors Alliance of San Diego, this troupe of three adult actors tours elementary schools with the educational plays, "Theatrical Fantastical! The Fun, Imagination, and History of Theatre" and "Eureka! Fun Facts, Terrific Tall Tales, and Song Sensations from the Great State of California." Myra writes the plays and directs for this touring company which she formed in 2000.
