Morten Halle is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist and composer. He is best known for his work with the Norwegian jazz group Masqualero, which he co-founded in 1983. He has also released several solo albums and collaborated with a variety of other musicians. Halle was born in Oslo, Norway, and began playing the saxophone at the age of 12. He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and later at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Halle has released several solo albums, including "Morten Halle Plays Masqualero" (1995), "Morten Halle Quartet" (1997), and "Morten Halle & Friends" (1999). He has also collaborated with a variety of other musicians, including Jan Garbarek, Terje Rypdal, and Jon Christensen. Halle has won several awards, including the Norwegian Music Award in 1995, and the Norwegian Jazz Musician of the Year award in 1997. He has also been nominated for a Grammy Award.
