Mitchell S. Steir is a Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Savills, a global real estate services firm. He has been in this role since 2018. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Roundtable and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. Steir began his career in the real estate industry in 1978 as a real estate analyst at Prudential Insurance Company of America. He then joined the real estate investment banking group at Salomon Brothers in 1982. In 1989, he joined the real estate investment banking group at Lehman Brothers, where he was a Managing Director and Head of the Real Estate Investment Banking Group. In 1997, Steir joined Insignia Financial Group as President and Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2000 and Chairman in 2002. In 2003, he joined the real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He served in this role until 2018, when he joined Savills. Steir holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
