Mike Conroy is a British actor and comedian who has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 1970s. He is best known for his roles in the television series The Young Ones, Bottom, and The Comic Strip Presents. Conroy was born on 31 July 1957 in Johnstone, Scotland. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, where he studied acting. Conroy's first major role was in the BBC comedy series The Young Ones, which aired from 1982 to 1984. He played the role of Mike, a student at Scumbag College. He also appeared in the spin-off series Bottom, which aired from 1991 to 1995. Conroy has also appeared in a number of films, including The Comic Strip Presents: The Strike (1988), The Comic Strip Presents: Bad News Tour (1989), and The Comic Strip Presents: The Yob (1993). Conroy has been married twice. His first marriage was to actress and comedian Caroline Quentin, with whom he has two children.
