He is best known for his works in Setswana, which include poetry, plays, and short stories. He has also written in English and Afrikaans. Dingake was educated at the University of Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in English at the University of South Africa. Dingake has written several books, including the novel, The Mantle of the Prophet, which was published in 1972. He has also written several plays, including The King of the Rainy Season, which was performed at the National Theatre of Botswana in 1975. Dingake has received numerous awards for his work, including the Botswana National Merit Award in 1975, the Botswana National Literary Award in 1976, and the Botswana National Literary Award in 1977.
