Merrellyn Tarr is a Zimbabwean archer who was born on 11 April, 1952 in Zimbabwean. She is the first Zimbabwean to compete in the Olympics, having represented her country in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Tarr began her archery career in the late 1970s and quickly rose to prominence in the sport. She won the Zimbabwean National Championships in 1981 and 1982 and was the first Zimbabwean to win a gold medal at the All-Africa Games in 1983. She also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1986. Tarr has been a member of the Zimbabwean national team since 1981 and has competed in numerous international competitions. She has won numerous medals in international competitions, including a bronze medal at the World Championships in 1985. Tarr is currently the president of the Zimbabwe Archery Federation and is a member of the International Archery Federation. She is also a member of the International Olympic Committee.
