Melissa Militano is an American figure skater who was born on April 26, 1955 in the United States. She is a two-time U.S. national champion and a two-time World bronze medalist. She is also a three-time World Professional Champion. Militano began skating at the age of seven and was coached by Carlo Fassi. She won the U.S. national title in 1974 and 1975. She also won the bronze medal at the World Championships in 1974 and 1975. In 1976, Militano turned professional and joined the Ice Capades. She was a featured skater in the show for two years. She then joined the World Professional Figure Skating Championships and won the title in 1977, 1978, and 1979. Militano retired from competitive skating in 1979 and has since become a coach and choreographer. She has coached many skaters, including Olympic medalists Brian Boitano and Kristi Yamaguchi. Militano is married to former figure skater and coach, John A. Wojciechowski. They have two children, a daughter and a son.
