Mathieu Biron is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Buffalo Sabres, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, and Florida Panthers. He was born on April 29, 1980 in Lac-St-Charles, Quebec, Canada. Biron was drafted in the first round, 16th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He played in the NHL for 11 seasons, appearing in 545 games and recording 24 goals and 81 assists for 105 points. He also played in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Rochester Americans and the Portland Pirates. Biron retired from professional hockey in 2011. He currently works as a hockey analyst for RDS, a French-language sports television network in Canada. As of 2021, Mathieu Biron's net worth is estimated to be $2 million.
