Mathias Claus is a German jazz pianist and composer. He is best known for his work with the German jazz group, the Mathias Claus Trio. He has released several albums, including his debut album, "The Mathias Claus Trio" (1996), and his most recent album, "The Mathias Claus Quartet" (2015). Claus was born in Waiblingen, Germany, and began playing the piano at the age of five. He studied classical music at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, and later studied jazz at the Musikhochschule in Berlin. Claus has performed with many of the world's leading jazz musicians, including Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Wynton Marsalis. He has also performed with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Claus has won numerous awards, including the German Jazz Award in 1997, the German Music Critics Award in 1998, and the German Jazz Award in 2000. He has also been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album in 2004. Claus is currently 68 years old. He has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
