Mary Lou Whitham was an American animator and animation department head. She was born in Seattle, Washington, and began her career in animation in the 1930s. She worked for several animation studios, including Walt Disney, Warner Bros., and Hanna-Barbera. She was the head of the animation department at Hanna-Barbera from 1965 to 1969. Whitham was known for her work on classic cartoons such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Scooby-Doo. She was also involved in the production of the animated feature film Charlotte's Web. Whitham was married to animator and director Bill Whitham, and the couple had two children. She passed away in 2004 at the age of 89.
